Why convert WebP to JPG
JPG is the most widely accepted photo format. Email clients, print shops, older desktop software, marketplaces and many upload forms still ask for it, and a .webp file will be rejected or fail to preview. Converting to JPG makes a photo usable almost anywhere.
Handling transparent images
JPG cannot store transparency. Any transparent area in your WebP is filled with the background color you pick. White is the default and suits most documents. Choose a color that matches the page or slide where the image will sit.
If you must keep transparency, use WebP to PNG instead.

Each conversion from a lossy format adds a little loss, so use the highest quality that keeps the file within the limit you need.
Social previews and open graph images
Some social networks and chat apps do not show WebP link previews reliably. A JPG or PNG for your og:image is the safe choice, and the Open Graph Checker shows how a page looks when it is shared.

Why does my WebP have a white background as JPG?
JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with the background color you choose.
Why does my transparent WebP get a white background?
JPG has no transparency, so the tool fills those areas with a solid color. Change the background color before converting if white does not suit.
Can I convert a lot of WebP files at once?
