What the Meta Description Optimizer does
A meta description is the short pitch under your title in Google. This tool takes the one you have, or builds one from the text of your page when there is none, and returns a version that fits, reads as a finished sentence and uses your keyword. It works from your own words and the page text, so it does not invent claims.
| What it fixes | How |
|---|---|
| Cut off by Google | Measures pixel width and ends on a full sentence before the limit (about 920 px on desktop, 680 px on mobile). |
| Too short | Adds a relevant sentence from the page so the description has something to say. |
| Missing keyword | Starts with a sentence that already uses it, or puts the keyword up front. |
| Filler openers | Removes "Welcome to" and "Click here", and fixes quotes and all caps. |
| No call to action | Optionally ends with one you pick, such as Learn more or Get started. |
How to write a description people click
- Say what the reader gets. A concrete outcome beats a general claim.
- Use the keyword once, naturally. Google bolds matching words, which helps the result stand out.
- Do not repeat the title. Use the space for something the title does not say.
- Stay under the cut-off. A description trimmed mid-thought looks careless.
Fix the headline first with the Meta Title Optimizer, then check the length with the Meta Description Length Checker and add the tags to your page with the Meta Tag Generator.
What it cannot do
The optimizer rearranges and trims real text. With no description and no page text it has nothing to work from, so paste a few sentences about the page into the page text box. Google may still show different text for a given search, which is normal.
Common questions
What does the Meta Description Optimizer change?
It trims descriptions that Google would cut, ends on a complete sentence, removes filler such as "Welcome to", adds your keyword when it is missing, and can add a call to action you choose. If the page has no description, it builds one from the page's opening sentences.
Does it write the description with AI?
No. It works from your own text and the text of the page, using fixed rules, in your browser. That keeps the result accurate to what the page says. Nothing is sent to an AI service.
How long should a meta description be?
Around 120 to 155 characters. Google shows up to about 920 pixels on desktop and about 680 on mobile, so the tool measures the real width and aims to fit.
What if my page has no meta description?
Load the page by address and the tool builds one from the opening sentences of the page. You can also paste a few sentences into the page text box. Without any text, it has nothing to build from.
Do meta descriptions help rankings?
Not directly. They affect how many people click your result, which is why a clear, complete description is worth the effort.
