Common questions

Does llms.txt help me rank in Google?

No. Google has said it does not use llms.txt for Search. Some AI tools and developer products read it, so it is optional and low effort.

Where does the file go?

At the root of your domain, so it loads at yourdomain.com/llms.txt.

What is the format?

Markdown: one H1 with the site name, an optional blockquote summary, then H2 sections that contain link lists. A section called Optional marks lower priority links.
