What keyword density tells you
Keyword density is how often a word appears compared with the total word count. There is no ideal percentage, and Google does not use one. The check is useful for spotting a word you repeat too often, or a topic word that never appears.
How to use it
- Write for the reader first, then check for unnatural repetition.
- Make sure your main topic appears in the title, a heading and the opening paragraph. The Heading Checker shows your outline.
